So a person who finds himself needing to move about the office quite a bit might use a chair with this kind of office chair caster. That’s because the ball-type caster allows unrestricted movement to all parts of the room.
The second factor that will impact your decision as to what kind of caster to get is the material they’re made from. And this will depend largely on your floor or surface where the chair will be rolling. If you’re rolling around on carpet, plastic is a good choice. A harder caster is needed for a harder surface, such as tile or hard wood. And for a factory setting, where there’s likely a concrete floor, an iron caster works great.
Bottom line: the best office chair caster for you depends on what kind of environment you’re using the chair in, and how much movement you require. Once you’ve figured out those things, you’ll be in a better position to select the right ones.
